On Saturday, 20th September 2025, the city of Accra witnessed a historic moment in youth recognition and cultural celebration as the Youth In Me Ghana Awards (YIMGA) was hosted at the GH Media Schools Mega Studio, Achimota Abofu Street. The event brought together legends, rising stars, innovators, and changemakers all under one roof to honor outstanding contributions across arts, culture, technology, advocacy, and youth leadership.
Honoring Legends, Celebrating Icons
This year’s edition of YIMGA paid special tribute to Ghana’s cultural pillars. Legendary figures such as Fred Nii Amugi, Maame Dokono, Kofi Adjorlolo, David Dontoh, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, and Papa Wasty were recognized for their lifetime achievements and enduring contributions to Ghanaian film, television, music, and culture. Their presence not only reminded us of Ghana’s rich creative heritage but also inspired the younger generation to build on their legacies.
Youth, Innovation & Leadership

True to its vision of empowering the next generation, YIMGA 2025 also highlighted the achievements of young leaders and innovators.
- Perry Essandor (ATU) received recognition as a Young Tech Innovator in Cybersecurity.
- Enoch Darko was honored as a Rising Star in Film & Comedy.
- Advocate for Young Women was recognized for Excellence in Gender Advocacy & Youth Empowerment.
- Albert Wobil received recognition as Project Coach of the Year.
Together, these honorees demonstrated that Ghana’s future is not only promising but already unfolding through the brilliance of its youth.
Spiritual & Cultural Blessings

The ceremony was made even more memorable through the prayers and blessings offered by the National Chief Imam and Apostle Abraham Obugyei, symbolizing unity between faith, culture, and youth empowerment. Their presence reinforced the spiritual foundation upon which YIMGA stands – that the recognition of talent is not just a celebration of achievement, but a call to service, purpose, and national impact.
Entertainment Meets Advocacy
From music and film to creative advocacy, YIMGA recognized those who have shaped Ghana’s entertainment and media landscape. Bull Dog was honored for Outstanding Contribution to Entertainment & Creative Advocacy, while Sammy Flex was recognized for his role in Media and Entertainment Development. These awards showcased the critical role of entertainment and media in shaping narratives, inspiring communities, and empowering youth.
Kofi Adjorlolo: My Reflections on YIMGA 25

The Youth In Me Ghana Awards (YIMGA 25) has proven to be more than an awards night – it is a movement. A movement that bridges the gap between legends like myself and the youth, tradition and innovation, recognition and inspiration.
As someone who has spent decades in Ghana’s film and entertainment industry, receiving recognition from YIMGA reminded me that our work as creatives lives far beyond the screen. It shapes culture, inspires society, and guides the young ones coming after us. YIMGA has given us a platform to see how deeply those legacies connect with the dreams and energy of today’s youth.
What touched me most is that YIMGA is not only honoring established legends, but also lifting up young innovators, creatives, and advocates who are shaping Ghana’s future. This blend of heritage and rising talent gives me great confidence in the road ahead for our nation.
As the applause fades from this year’s celebration, one thing remains clear: YIMGA is building a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
To the executives, organizers, and all who made this possible – I extend my heartfelt gratitude. YIMGA is more than recognition, it is a calling to continue to inspire, to teach, and to share. And I am humbled to be part of this legacy.

Celebrating Excellence in Gender Advocacy & Youth Empowerment

This YIMGA recognition is not just a plaque but a symbol of gratitude – gratitude for the sacrifices, the boldness, and the vision of a leader who has dedicated her life to lifting others. It is also an inspiration to the next generation of young women who are being nurtured to dream bigger, push boundaries, and take their rightful place in society.

At YIMGA, we believe that recognizing today’s leaders and creatives lights the path for tomorrow’s changemakers. Ghana’s youth are not just the future – they are the present, and their impact is being felt across all sectors of society.
